Kirstin's Chronicles

Welcome to the chronicles of my adventures. As I journey with the Lord I hope to share about the people along the way and all that I learn.

Last weekend we had our Fall Retreat at Csilleberc in the Hills of Buda. It was good to be able to get away for the night and spend some time listening to different speakers and just having fun together. The picture to the left is of a group competition where we had to cover a person completely in toilet paper. Our group didn’t win but they had a lot of fun covering up Meli. The first night we also played a human bingo game

The weekend was focused on understanding God’s will and how it applies to our lives. We spent time in the Word listening to speakers and in small groups discussing what this means today. I also had a chance to talk with some students individually about what God is doing in their life and some questions they have been thinking about. In my room we were up until 3am just talking and playing a fun little game, Brigi and Sophie taught me. I was definitely tired when I got home on Saturday night.

Throughout the weekend four of the students shared their testimony. It was great to see them up front and sharing with their peers. Sari, one of the girls I am working with did a great job. She then had the chance to share again on Sunday in front of her whole church.

The retreat ended with a big bon fire and a chance for the students to share their thoughts about the weekend. It had started snowing earlier in the afternoon so it was nice to be able to stand near the fire to try and stay warm. Here is a picture of Me, Sari, Lilla, Hanna, and Lauren at the bon fire.

It started snowing today! The past few days the temperature dropped to freezing and we had heard snow was in the forecast. So I have been bundled up in my winter coat and bought an extra pair of gloves to keep me warm. Then this morning as I awoke and opened the blinds I saw snow falling. Nothing major yet just little flakes. But it looks so pretty. I am sure once I step outside my thoughts may change but sitting in the comfort of my warm room it is so peaceful.

Today we head off to Csilleberc for our fall retreat with the students. It will be in the hills of Buda outside of Budapest. It should be a fun weekend of getting to know the students better and hopefully many meaningful conversations about what God is doing in our lives.
